Ron Miller tossed six shutout innings as Owego (2-1) blanked host Whitney Point (1-5). Miller struck out nine and allowed two hits. Bill Gibson homered and Ryan Ceruti added a grand slam in the fifth inning for Owego.

Owego's six-run fifth inning included a two-run double by Jeremy Chatt, and RBI single by Justin Larson and two other runs that scored on errors in the win over visiting Susquehanna Valley. Marley Walter doubled in a three-hit outing for the Indians (3-2).

Kyle Sharp's first-inning single scored Chris Tiffany for CV's run, and Nate Andrus pitched six shutout innings as Chenango Valley won at Owego.
Andrus walked two and struck one. He got out of a sixth inning jam unscathed when Owego put runners on first and second base with none out but couldn't score.

Owego committed three of six errors in Oneonta's seven-run seventh inning. Owego pitcher Jeremy Chatt struck out 12. Mike Konstanty allowed one run on four hits, struck out 14 and walked three for the win. He also had two hits.

Baseball: Miller strikes out 10 to lead Owego over JC

Ron Miller tossed a four-hitter and Ryan Ceruti's two-run double in the first inning gave Owego the lead for good as the Indians beat visiting Johnson City, 4-2, in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference baseball game Friday.
Miller struck out 10 and walked two. He escaped a seventh-inning jam when JC loaded the bases with no outs, striking out Bill Putman and getting Joe Sacco to hit into a 6-4-3 double play to end the game.
